Catching you up on some of our favorite things to come out of Hollywood this week:


Jack Black in Goosebumps

Ant-Man is returning to theaters on July 6, 2018 in Ant-Man and the Wasp. The Wasp, Evangeline Lilly’s character, Hope Van Dyne, marks the first time that a female hero’s name is in a Marvel title. (Entertainment Weekly)

The next Ant-Man film wasn’t the only news Disney released this week. In fact, the House of Mouse announced 19 movies through the year 2020 including Cars 3, Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2. (Variety)

In a return to his musical roots, Jack Black collaborated with MF Bumps on this cheesy-fun Goosebumps rap, Bumps Gonna Goose Ya.  Slappy the Dummy, the main villain of the film, even gets a solo. Goosebumps opens this weekend in theaters. (The Wrap)

Paramount Pictures and Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way didn’t waste any time in purchasing the film rights on the yet to-be-written book about the Volkswagen Clean Diesel scandal.  (Deadline)

Tuesday marked the fifth anniversary of the heroic rescue of 33 Chilean miners trapped underground for 69 days.  To commemorate the anniversary, Warner Bros. released a special interactive poster featuring the names and stories of The 33 miners.  (USA Today)

Quentin Tarantino plans on releasing two versions of his latest movie, The Hateful Eight. He has an ambitious plan to show the film in Ultra Panavision 70mm during a 100-theater roadshow with a slightly different cut than the one that will be shown during wide release a few weeks later.  (Variety)

That treasure trove of movie information, IMDb, turs 25 this year and released a list of the top user-ranked films from every year since the site was founded. (Vanity Fair)

Opening this weekend:  R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps, the Guillermo Del Toro horror film Crimson Peak and Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies.
