Disney held its annual D23 summit in Anaheim, California, where the studio revealed major news on numerous upcoming films. Here’s a quick recap (Entertainment Weekly):

  • 1st Official Trailer of A Wrinkle in Time
  • A behind-the-scenes featurette of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
  • Will Smith (Genie), Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and Naomi Scott (Jasmine) are all confirmed to star in Guy Richtie’s live-action remake of Aladdin.
  • Ralph Breaks The Internet clip dazzled audiences, along with Taraji P. Henson’s casting announcement.
  • Elasticgirl (Holly Hunter) is front and center in this stunning scene from The Incredibles 2.
  • Audiences caught a first glimpse of the opening sequence from Jon Favreau’s The Lion King, and it did not disappoint!
  • Thanos brought the house down as Marvel unveil new footage of Avengers: Infinity War. The studio also revealed Thanos’s children, also known as ”Black Order.”
  • Mary Poppins Returns to D23 with a rousing sneak peek at her London adventures with the Banks family.
  • Josh Cooley is announced as director of Toy Story 4.
  • The Nutcracker and the Four Realms release date is November 2, 2018.
  • Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, Colin Farrell and Eva Green will all star in Tim Burton’s Dumbo.

Warner Bros. announced new release dates from 2018 to 2020 for four of their untitled films and also pushed back the comedy Game Night to March 2, 2018. (Variety)

The latest trailer for Blade Runner 2049 gave fans a better look at Jared Leto’s villain as he tracks down Officer K (Ryan Reynolds) to stop him from destroying his plan to unleash a new species. (The Wrap)
