Harrison Ford returns to the Blade Runner universe with Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049.

Jared Leto will star as Hugh Hefner in an upcoming biopic about the Playboy founder. The news came less than a week after Hefner passed away on September 27th at 91. (Hollywood Reporter)

Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot assured fans that Justice League “is Zack Snyder’s movie” despite his departure from the project earlier this year. “Joss [Whedon] only did a few weeks of reshoots. He was Zack’s guy and knew exactly what he wanted to get.” Reports raised concerns that Whedon had made “significant changes including a different ending” when he stepped in as director. Judy Greer will play Jamie Lee Curits’ daughter, Karen Strode, in a Halloween reboot. The film is currently in pre-production. (Slash Film)

Kristen Stewart is under consideration for a role as one of the Angels in the Charlie’s Angels reboot to be directed by Pitch Perfect 2’s Elizabeth Banks. (Variety)

The Chicago Cubs’ 2016 World Series Championship is coming to theaters. Shane Abbess will direct the movie based on anecdotes from David Ross’ memoir, Teammate: My Journey in Baseball and a World Series for the Ages. (Variety)

Paramount confirmed that a Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie is currently in development. Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz and Deadpool director Tim Miller will produce the project, and Blur Studio’s Jeff Fowler will make his directorial debut. (Slash Film)

Jenny Slate is in talks to play the role of a scientist in Spider-Man spinoff Venom, in theater October 5, 2018. Tom Hardy is confirmed to star as the Marvel anti-hero. (Hollywood Reporter)

Quavo of rap trio Migos hinted at a move to the big screen. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Quavo mentioned that his cousin is “writing the scripts.” (Billboard)

Columbus Short is working on a new project titled Ellis D. The film, going into production next year, is based on the life of Major League Baseball player Dock Ellis. After retiring from baseball, Ellis disclosed that he pitched a no hitter in 1970 while on LSD. (Variety)

An avid movie fan in Canada is selling his entire 25 year-old collection of films on VHS, DVD and Blu Ray for $1 million. For a total of 17,195 movies, that nets out at about $58 per movie and a lifetime of collecting (CTV News)
