For the much-anticipated sixth installment in the Terminator franchise, Arnold Schwarzenegger promises a “simpler” plot that disregards the “rules of the timeline and other [minor] characters.” This return to form comes in response to mixed reviews of 2015’s Terminator Genisys, a film Schwarzenegger admits was difficult to follow. A Dora the Explorer movie is in the works. The Muppets and Neighbors writer-director Nick Stoller will script the project, while Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners–Andrew Form and Brad Fuller–are producing. The studio is projecting a 2019 release. (Hollywood Reporter)
Reneé Zellweger will star in a Judy Garland biopic titled Judy. The film chronicles an emotionally exhausted Garland as she prepares for her final concerts in London in 1968, 30 years after filming The Wizard of Oz. (Entertainment Weekly)

Blade Runner 2049’s Sylvia Hoeks is moving on to another major franchise. Hoeks is in talks to play Lisbeth Salander in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a sequel to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. (Variety)
Captain Fantastic actor Charlie Shotwell will play the lead role in Eli, a Ciaran Foy-directed horror film. Shotwell plays Eli, a boy with a rare disease being treated in a haunted clinic. Paramount Players announced Eli would have a January 4, 2019 release date. (Hollywood Reporter)
