Disney released a spoiler-free synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story. According to the synopsis, Han Solo will meet Chewbacca for the first time, and come face-to-face with “the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian.” The Ron Howard-directed film arrives in theaters May 25. (CinemaBlend)
Leonardo DiCaprio will star in Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film set in 1969 Los Angeles during the summer of the Manson murders. This movie will reunite the actor and director from 2012’s Django Unchained. (Deadline)
According to Anthony Mackie (Falcon from Captain America: Civil War), the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War features a scene with as many as 40 superheroes at once. “That day was really fun,” said Mackie, “It was a great day with a lot of great people.” (Heroic Hollywood)
Fox is making significant changes to their upcoming release schedule, starting with Deadpool 2. The Ryan Reynolds film hits theaters May 18, 2018, two weeks ahead of its original June 1 premiere and now one week before Disney’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Other changes to the schedule include Gambit moving from February 14, 2019 to June 7, 2019, and The New Mutants being pushed 10 months from April 13, 2018 to February 22, 2019. (Hollywood Reporter)
Marvel Studios releases a new photo from the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp. The photo shows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) in their respective Ant-Man and Wasp superhero costumes. This film will be the first in the MCU with a female title character when it hits theaters July 6. (ComicBook)
Responding to a fan’s tweet, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirmed that Vol. 3 will hit theaters in 2020. Marvel has already scheduled three unnamed films for 2020 (May 1, August 7, November 6). (ComingSoon)
A leaked video from the Venom set reveals a scene in which Tom Hardy’s character Eddie Brock lies bloodied on the ground while his co-star Scott Haze proceeds to taunt him. A third person is pictured, observing both men throughout the scene. Venom comes to theaters October 5. (Heroic Hollywood)
Taraji P. Henson will star in and produce a movie about Emmett Till, the 14-year-old black teenager and Chicago native who was abducted and brutally killed by two white men while on a trip to Mississippi in 1955. Henson is set to play Till’s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, while John Singleton is on board to direct the period piece. (Hollywood Reporter)
