Samuel L. Jackson may have revealed a big hint about Avengers: Endgame. In an on-set interview, Jackson mentioned that Captain Marvel can time travel when explaining why she is arguably the most powerful Avenger. Many fans have theorized that time travel will play a significant role in Endgame, serving as a plausible explanation for the re-introduction of many characters who were snapped by Thanos. Jackson’s mention of Captain Marvel’s time travel abilities strengthens the theory ahead of Endgame’s April 26 release. (ET Online)

Following the box office success of Venom, Sony Pictures has started planning for a sequel. Kelly Marcel, one of the screenwriters from the first movie, will write the script. Marcel’s role is “a significant one” that will also see her executive produce the follow-up. Sony may be looking for a new director as Reuben Fleischer will be busy shooting the Zombieland sequel. Dave Bautista will join Timotheé Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson in the cast of Dune, a Denis Villenevue film based on a series of novels published in 1965. The film centers on a galactic drug war between feuding families fighting for control of Melange, a.k.a. “spice,” found only on the desert planet of Arrakis, a.k.a. “Dune.” The details of Bautista’s character are still under wraps. Kevin Feige has known the Avengers: Infinity War sequel would be titled Endgame since before the latter started production. According to a Golden Globes red carpet interview Feige says he knew the title “before we started developing [Avengers: Endgame], or just as we were developing it.” He also talked about his interest in a solo Silver Surfer movie directed by Adam McKay and confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will happen at an indefinite later date. Margot Robbie is set to play Barbie in a film about the iconic doll. Mattel and Warner Bros. have entered an agreement with Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment banner to “produce a film that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children and audiences worldwide” said Robbie in a statement. (Variety)

Brad Bird spoke with Variety about his next film project following the highly-successful Incredibles 2. Bird explained that he is working on a musical with “20 minutes of animation.” It will be an original script with music by Michael Giacchino who has scored every Brad Bird film since 2004’s The Incredibles. After 3 straight weeks atop the box office, Aquaman has become the highest-grossing DCEU film. Jason Momoa’s film passed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with a global gross of $887.6MM, over $230MM more than Justice League which currently sits in 6th place. (/Film)
