The film is set for a June release from Universal Pictures. The anticipated hidden camera comedy Bad Trip, starring Tiffany Haddish, Eric Andre and Lil Rel Howery, has also been announced as part of the festival’s lineup. Director Matt Reeves, who also directed Planet of the Apes, reportedly will be focusing on Batman’s reputation as the “world’s greatest detective.” Godzilla vs. Kong is next up on the list. Hitting theaters later this year, the showdown between Godzilla and Kong is a must see for moviegoers! Watch to see which other films made the cut! (Noovie)

Less than a year after buying 21st Century Fox’s properties for $73.1 billion, the Walt Disney Company is removing the “Fox” name from two of their major studios. The 20th Century Fox film studio will now become 20th Century Studios, and Fox Searchlight Pictures will become simply Searchlight Pictures. The changes have already begun as seen on the poster for Searchlight’s next film Downhill, and the film’s opening credits begin with “Searchlight Pictures Presents.” Call of the Wild, an upcoming family film, will be released under the 20th Century banner. The signature elements such as the swirling klieg lights, monolith, and triumphal fanfare will all remain the same.

CJ 4DPLEX, the company behind multi-sensory 4DX cinema technology that provides moviegoers with a variety of special effects to enjoy during their time at the movies including vibrating chairs, blowing winds, fog, and splashing water, announced that it had a record-breaking 2019, increasing 4DX-enhanced films’ domestic box office take by 73% from 2018.
